Sri Lanka Visitors Urged To Venture Inland
Sri Lanka visitors urged to venture inland by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Travellers planning to visit Sri Lanka in the near future have been urged to take the opportunity to explore the whole island.
Nabeel Shariff, UK and Ireland marketing manager for Sri Lanka Tourism, pointed out that there are a number of transport options available to visitors, including rail services from the capital city of Colombo.
Those who choose to venture inland and away from popular hotspots on the coast will come across a number of exciting destinations, Mr Shariff revealed.
"Sri Lanka is home to a host of attractions in an area no larger than Ireland," he said.
"With ample coastline, the beaches have dominated the tourism landscape, however venturing inland opens up several different worlds morphing across the changing topographies."
The Sri Lanka Tourism spokesman recommended a number of locations, including the ancient capital cities of Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa, Minneriya National Park and the rock fortress of Sigiriya.
Colombo is the main gateway to the island. The city"s international airport hosts flights operated by Qatar Airways, Emirates, Sri Lankan Airlines and other carriers.
