Asiana Airlines voted world"s best carrier by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Asiana Airlines took the top honour at the 2010 World Airline Awards, an event organised by Skytrax.

The winners were decided on the basis of a survey that sought the views of nearly 18m travellers from more than 100 different countries between July 2009 and April this year.

Asiana Airlines took top place ahead of Singapore Airlines and Qatar Airways, with Cathay Pacific and Air New Zealand occupying fourth and fifth positions respectively.

Qantas, Thai Airways and Malaysia Airlines also featured in the top ten.

The 2010 World Airline Awards encompassed several separate categories, with Virgin Atlantic named the best transatlantic carrier and Air Berlin ranked first in the section covering low-cost operators in Europe.

Air Canada was voted the leading North American carrier, ahead of Continental and Delta.
