Ba Confident That Many Workers Will Ignore Strike Call
BA "confident" that many workers will ignore strike call by Cheap Flights Booker UK
British Airways (BA) has expressed its confidence that many of its cabin crew workers will not take part in planned industrial action over the coming month.
Trade union Unite announced yesterday (10 May) that its members had voted for a further 20 days of strikes over a long-running dispute with the airline relating to pay and working conditions.
The action is due to take place over the following periods: 18-22 May, 24-28 May, 30 May-3 June and 5-9 June.
BA said the decision to strike has "no semblance of justification" and criticised Unite for "showing callous disregard for our customers and their own members in all parts of our airline".
"We are confident that many crew will again ignore Unite"s pointless strike call and support the efforts of the rest of the airline to keep our customers flying," the company added in a statement.
BA plans to operate all flights from London City and Gatwick airports as normal, as well as a "substantial" part of its long-haul network from Heathrow during the walkouts.
