BA strike blocked by high court by Cheap Flights Booker UK

British Airways (BA) flights will largely operate as scheduled over the next three weeks after the airline won a last-minute injunction against a planned strike by cabin crew staff.

The high court blocked the industrial action on the grounds that the Unite trade union had failed to carry out a proper ballot.

Before the ruling, BA was facing a total of 20 days of strikes between 18 May and 9 June.

The airline issued a statement in response to the judgement last night (17 May), saying it was "delighted" that Unite"s plans for "extreme and unjustified strike action" cannot go ahead.

A number of previously cancelled long-haul flights from London Heathrow will be reinstated today and a full programme should be operational at the airport by the weekend.

BA will offer all of its scheduled services from London City and Gatwick airports as planned.
