Britons "prepared to search for low holiday prices" by Cheap Flights Booker UK

British consumers are willing to spend a lot of time searching online for a cheap holiday, according to a new survey.

Travel information portal Simonseeks polled 600 of its regular users and found that the majority were not planning to pay full price for a break this year.

Some 70% of respondents revealed that they are seeking discounts of 25% or more and will be using their savings or current account to pay for the trip, rather than a credit card.

More than half said that they would be prepared to spend more than three days searching for a bargain, while 30% revealed that they are intending to spend less money during this year"s holiday than they did in 2009.

Simon Nixon, founder of Simoneeks, said: "The results show us that Brits are online, on the ball and certainly not prepared to either pay full price or use credit to pay for this year"s holiday."

The site recommended Paris and Venice in August for people searching for cheap hotel deals, while families who will be going away during the school holidays were encouraged to consider a destination in the Mediterranean.
