Carlson set to open dozens of new hotels in Asia by Cheap Flights Booker UK

People travelling in the Asia Pacific region over the coming years will have a wider range of accommodation options to choose from, with Carlson Hotels set to open a number of new properties.

The company announced that it would begin operating 75 hotels under the Radisson, Country Inns & Suites by Carlson, Park Inn and Park Plaza brands by 2013.

Carlson"s expansion will begin this year with the opening of 18 properties in Asia, nine of which will be Radisson hotels in destinations such as Brunei, Bangkok, the Philippines and Amritsar.

Hubert Joly, the company"s president and chief executive officer, said: "Accelerated development in Asia Pacific is a key priority of our Ambition 2015 growth strategy.

"This market is a key focus area in our plans to increase Carlson Hotels" portfolio by at least 50% to more than 1,500 hotels in operation by 2015."

The firm also announced the signing of new hotel management agreements that include properties in the provinces of Jiangsu, Guangdong and Sichuan in China.
