Easyjet Flights Selling Fast Following Ba Strike Confirmation
EasyJet flights "selling fast" following BA strike confirmation by Cheap Flights Booker UK
EasyJet has experienced a substantial increase in demand as a result of the cabin crew strike at British Airways (BA), the low-cost carrier has revealed.
Half of easyJet"s available flights from the UK during the scheduled strike dates have been sold since the industrial action was initially proposed.
The first five-day walkout began today (24 May), with further stoppages set to begin on 30 May and 5 June if no settlement is reached between BA and the trade union Unite.
EasyJet said that the strike is "proving the final straw for BA passengers" and informed people who could be affected by the action to "consider their options now to avoid disappointment".
Paul Simmons, the airline"s UK general manager, said: "The prospect of three five-day BA strikes must be creating further uncertainty and disruption to BA passengers" holiday and business arrangements.
"As always, our aim is to accommodate BA passengers wherever possible, but they must take action to book alternative flights now as they are selling fast."
BA intends to operate all flights from London City and Gatwick airports during the industrial action this week and has also released details of the services that will be available from Heathrow.
