Emirates recognised for global conservation efforts by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Emirates has received an accolade in recognition of its commitment to environmental sustainability across its portfolio of hotels and resorts.
The airline was presented with the Conservation Award at this year"s World Travel and Tourism Council"s (WTTC) international summit, which took place in Beijing.
Presented as part of the WTTC"s Tourism for Tomorrow awards programme, the honour reflects Emirates" environmental initiatives at three resorts - Al Maha in Dubai, Wolgan Valley in Australia and the forthcoming Cap Ternay complex in the Seychelles.
Hans Haensel, the airline"s senior vice-president of destination and leisure management, said: "Emirates has taken environmental commitments seriously and our resorts and their conservation work form a central focus of our corporate environmental policy.
"Across the whole organisation we are continuing to search for ways to improve environmental performance - on the ground and in the air."
WTTC president and chief executive Jean-Claude Baumgarten described Emirates Hotels and Resorts as "a pioneer" in the fields of sustainable development, wildlife protection and conservation.
The carrier operates regular flights to Dubai from London, as well as a long-haul network that includes services to Sydney, the Seychelles and Kuala Lumpur.
