Ireland Looking For More Visitors Over The Summer Months
Ireland looking for more visitors over the summer months by Cheap Flights Booker UK
A €20m (£17.2m) campaign has been launched with the aim of attracting more summer visitors to Ireland.
Introduced by tourism minister Mary Hanafin and set to be rolled out by Tourism Ireland in Great Britain, the initiative will focus on the "excellent value" on offer to travellers and tap into a growing trend towards late bookings.
The campaign has been developed in partnership with a number of industry partners, including hotels, cultural institutions, golf courses and visitor attractions.
Ms Hanafin said: "While 2010 continues to be a very difficult year, we still have everything to play for in terms of winning the business that is out there - over 60% of our overseas visitors arrive between May and September.
"We must get out there and fight for that business which is the lifeblood of this industry."
Tourism Ireland chief executive Niall Gibbons said the promotional drive is designed to distinguish Ireland from the many other destinations that are vying for a share of the international visitor market.
Travellers can reach the destination by taking flights to Dublin with carriers such as Aer Lingus and bmi.
