Jet Airways marks five years of London to Mumbai flights by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Jet Airways has announced that it will be holding a special inflight party on 23 May to celebrate the fifth anniversary of its flights from London to Mumbai.

First class passengers will be served cake on the three services to Mumbai and Delhi departing from London Heathrow on the day, while economy customers will receive some luxury Lily O"Brien"s chocolates and a glass of sparkling wine.

The airline has carried some 1.1m passengers on all of its routes from Heathrow since its inaugural flight from London to Mumbai took off on 23 May 2005.

March 2010 was the "best month ever" for flights to India from the UK, the carrier revealed, following seven consecutive months of growth since October 2009.

Jet Airways" top priorities for 2010 include increasing its connectivity in the Middle East following the launch of a new daily flight to Doha, Qatar in January.

The airline introduced its first daily direct service from Mumbai to Johannesburg in April in time for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
