To mark the opening of its new amenities, Belfast City played host to Northern Ireland tourism minister Arlene Foster.

Ms Foster praised the airport for its investment in "improving and enhancing the tourist experience in Northern Ireland".

Belfast City chief executive Brian Ambrose said: "Passengers have reported a remarkable difference thanks to the upgraded facilities when departing the airport.

"This significant private investment enhances the customer experience for both local people and tourists."

Flybe, easyJet and bmi are among the carriers based at the airport, offering flights to Rennes, London, Edinburgh and other destinations.
