Oil Spill Not Affecting Tourism In Florida
Oil spill "not affecting tourism in Florida" by Cheap Flights Booker UK
People planning a trip to Florida this year have been reassured that the recent oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is not having any effect on the state"s tourism industry.
Colin Brodie, UK director of Visit Florida, pointed out that the region"s coastal locations are still open and continuing to welcome visitors, as are local accommodation establishments.
"We haven"t had any hotel cancellations, it"s business as usual," he commented.
"All 1,200 miles of Florida"s beaches are open and not intending to close at any time soon."
Mr Brodie also commented on the state"s tourism industry in general, revealing that tour operators are reporting good sales and contributing to "substantial year-on-year growth".
Discussing the factors that make the destination so appealing to families, the Visit Florida spokesman pointed out that it offers the benefits of familiarity, value for money and guaranteed entertainment.
Several new attractions will be opening across the state this year, such as The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort.
