Flybe Marks Anniversary Of London Gatwick To Leeds Flights
Flybe marks anniversary of London Gatwick to Leeds flights by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Flybe is today (29 June) celebrating the first anniversary of launching flights from London Gatwick to Leeds Bradford.
The airline said the route has provided a "key link" between Yorkshire and the south-east and has been a "roaring success" since it was introduced in June 2009, shortly after bmi suspended flights from London Heathrow to Leeds.
More than 60,000 passengers have used the Flybe service, which is operated by a Bombardier Q400 aircraft.
Mike Rutter, the carrier"s chief commercial officer, said: "Air services from London Gatwick to Leeds Bradford are of great strategic importance to Yorkshire and the north of England in general, so we"re delighted to be celebrating the first anniversary of our service connecting the two airports.
"We know from passenger feedback how important this link is for business and leisure passengers alike in Yorkshire and this has been reflected in the performance of our service in its first year."
To mark the anniversary, Flybe announced that it would be offering double points on its Rewards4All loyalty programme until 6 July for flights booked for travel before 26 March 2011.
