Travellers Could Have Leftover Currency After Eurozone Trips
Travellers "could have leftover currency after eurozone trips" by Cheap Flights Booker UK
The current affordability of holidays in the eurozone could mean that British travellers return from their breaks with money left over, a travel expert has claimed.
Post Office Travel Money recently carried out a survey which found that living costs in Portugal and Spain have fallen by around 40% this year from 2009 levels.
Sarah Munro, head of the organisation, pointed out that travellers from the UK will also benefit from the recent recovery of the pound against the single European currency.
"Holidaymakers planning a trip to Europe this year may find themselves with leftover currency after their trip, especially those heading to eurozone destinations," she said.
"Sterling has gained almost 10% against the euro since its weakest point this year (March) and UK holidaymakers will have 2.4% more euros for their pounds than a year ago."
Post Office Travel Money released a report this month which showed that, while euro sales have been struggling to reach 2009 levels so far this year, there have been recent signs of an upturn.
