British Holidaymakers Becoming More Adventurous
British holidaymakers "becoming more adventurous" by Cheap Flights Booker UK
British travellers are increasingly looking for excitement and adventure during their holidays, according to research.
Insurance company swiftcover.com revealed that almost a quarter of its travel policies are currently for long-haul destinations, compared to a fifth five years ago.
The firm asked more than 1,100 people about activities they would like to try on holiday and found that 23% would go white-water rafting.
Nearly a fifth (17%) would drive a fast car around a racetrack, while 16% would be interested in doing a parachute jump.
Swiftcover.com also asked Brits about their "dream holiday", with almost a quarter (23%) of respondents opting for a break on a tropical island.
Some 14% of the people surveyed said they would like to explore remote destinations in countries such as India and China.
Roman Bryl, the company"s travel underwriting manager, said: "It"s no surprise to see that luxury tops the list of dream destinations for us Brits, but it"s interesting to note that people are becoming more adventurous in their tastes.
"Whilst travelling to somewhere exotic like India or Machu Picchu may be a holiday of a lifetime, it is certainly within reach for many UK holidaymakers."
