New app available for American Airlines passengers by Cheap Flights Booker UK

American Airlines has released a free application for the iPhone and iPod touch that is designed to give passengers "more control of their travel experience".

The tool has been designed to provide the most relevant information to individual users, showing information such as departure times, destinations and seat locations once the passenger has logged in.

Customers can also check the status of their flight and save mobile boarding passes on the application, making them easy to find at check-in.

Monte Ford, American Airlines" senior vice-president of information technology, said: "Our mobile website is the best in the industry and this new iPhone app takes our leadership another step further because the unique attributes of the iPhone are embedded in the app itself - giving our customers a completely differentiated and personalised experience.

"The app is the latest in a series of customer technologies we"ve introduced to help improve the customer experience and we are developing immersion apps for a wide range of other mobile devices."

It was announced last month that London Heathrow was the first international airport to offer the airline"s mobile boarding option.
