Survey reveals UK"s most popular airports by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Birmingham is the most popular airport in the UK, according to a survey of more than 2,300 holidaymakers.

Comparison website airporttransfers.co.uk conducted a poll which asked respondents to give marks out of ten for different air travel hubs based on cleanliness, staff friendliness, check-in efficiency and other factors.

With top marks in three of the six categories, Birmingham emerged as the most popular base, followed by Cardiff, Liverpool, Manchester and Glasgow.

The survey also highlighted a growing preference for regional hubs, with nearly two-thirds (63 per cent) of people saying they would rather catch a flight from a smaller airport outside London.

Chris Brown, co-founder of airporttransfers.co.uk, said: "With our customers heading to various airports across the UK every day, we were really keen to find out which ones were loved and which passengers would rather avoid."

Commenting on the poor performance of London bases, Mr Brown said: "I think many people are put off by larger, busier airports. Whilst all of the London airports scored relatively high for shopping experience, it seems a lot of passengers feel let down in the more important customer service areas such as friendliness of staff and check-in efficiency."
