Regional airports will also be busy, with Manchester expected to handle around 145,000 departing passengers.

In the European city break market, Paris, Amsterdam, Venice and Dublin look set to welcome a high number of British visitors this weekend.
Abta chairman John McEwan said: "This weekend is the last great getaway of the summer and I am delighted to see that so many customers are taking the opportunity to head off on holiday overseas as well as the large number who will be sampling the delights of the sea and countryside as well as our beautiful cities here at home."
