Eastern Europe Offers Best Bargains
Eastern Europe "offers best bargains" by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Britons planning to treat themselves to a late summer break this year will find the best bargains in eastern Europe, according to International Currency Exchange (Ice).
The company said that the Croatian kuna is now its third most ordered currency after the euro and the US dollar and is offering good value for money for UK travellers, with the value of the pound rising 2.94% against the currency compared to last year.
Bulgaria was also highlighted as a good option for cheap getaways, while eurozone destinations will be more affordable than last year.
Joanna Williams, head of marketing for Ice, said: "Brits heading off for a late summer break will get more for their money in the eurozone than this time last year. The strengthening pound means Brits will get around €24 extra in their pocket when exchanging £500.
"However, Croatia and Bulgaria are really giving the traditional European hotspots a run for their money. Both countries offer sunny days and warm seas in September but with low day-to-day living costs."
The firm also revealed that Turkey is continuing to prove popular among Brits, despite the pound losing some of its value against the lira.
