Etihad To Launch All Economy Flights

Etihad to launch all-economy flights by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Etihad Airways will add the first all-economy planes to its fleet in October this year.

Two Airbus A320s will be configured to provide capacity for 162 economy passengers - 42 more than the current arrangement.

Initially, the planes will be used to fly to short-haul destinations from Abu Dhabi that have strong demand for economy travel, such as Colombo in Sri Lanka, Damascus in Syria and Thiruvananthapuram in India.

The all-economy configuration is set to be extended to a total of ten A320s to enable Etihad to launch flights to new short-haul destinations.

James Hogan, the airline"s chief executive officer, said: "Etihad has grown at a remarkable pace during the past six and a half years. We have built a strong brand and a robust business and it is the right time to challenge the way we serve our various markets and segments.

"Our all-economy aircraft will allow us to offer a more competitive product in key point-to-point markets in Asia, the Middle East, north Africa and the Indian subcontinent, while maintaining the high standards of service we have become known for."

Passengers on the new Airbus planes will continue to receive hot and cold meals and drinks and inflight entertainment through seat-back screens.
