Manchester airport passengers name top pre-flight song by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Passengers at Manchester airport"s new Escape lounge have voted One Day Like This by Elbow their favourite song to listen to before a flight.

The airport recently surveyed customers at the £1.7m facility to find out which tracks helped them relax and get in the holiday mood before jetting off.

All five members of Elbow visited the lounge over the weekend to receive a commemorative record before boarding a flight to Mallorca.

Sarah Barrett, head of customer experience at Manchester, said the survey was part of the airport"s mission to do everything it can to create the perfect "escape atmosphere" for passengers.

She added: "Elbow have already collected a plethora of awards for their work, so it [is] probably no surprise that One Day Like This was the most popular song as it is an inspiring piece of music.

"However, we thought it would be nice to commemorate their first visit to the Escape lounge and the fact our passengers picked them out in the popularity stakes, especially as they are local lads whose contribution to the city"s musical heritage is something to be very proud of."

The band won the Mercury Music Prize in 2008 for their album The Seldom Seen Kid.
