Monarch Puts On Extra Summer Flights To Meet Demand
Monarch puts on extra summer flights to meet demand by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Monarch Airlines has announced the addition of 22 scheduled flights during the last week of the school holidays this year in response to "huge demand" for travel to Spain.
The services will operate from Gatwick, Luton and Manchester airports to Malaga, Alicante and Mallorca between 27 August and 5 September.
An extra 4,000 seats will be made available during this period, giving families more opportunities to take a summer break before children return to school.
Tim Jeans, managing director of Monarch, said: "At the start of the year we believed that demand for this summer would lie in our eastern Med destinations such as Turkey and Cyprus.
"As the pound has strengthened against the euro however, we"ve also seen a huge surge in demand for flights to our core western Med destinations, particularly those in Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar and the Spanish islands, and the addition of these flights is in direct response to this."
It was also confirmed that extra services will be available between Manchester and Gibraltar between 12 September and 31 October.
Monarch this year recorded its highest ever passenger traffic figures for the month of July.
