Norwegian sets third monthly passenger record by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Norwegian Air Shuttle has announced that it experienced its third consecutive month of record passenger figures in July.
More than 1.3m people flew with the airline during the month, an increase of 274,000, or 26%, from July last year.
Norwegian operated 99.7% of its scheduled flights last month with a punctuality rate of 79.2%, which it claimed was affected by industrial action in Greece and France, as well as slot delays in Spain, Croatia and other countries.
Bjorn Kjos, the carrier"s chief executive officer, said: "I"m very pleased with the great boost in the July traffic figures.
"The airline industry has been facing turbulent times recently due to the closing of European airspace and third party strikes. However, the heavy passenger growth proves that our customers are confident that Norwegian and the airline industry in general are back on track."
Norwegian is Scandinavia"s largest airline after SAS and operates a route network that includes flights to Copenhagen, Oslo and Tromso from London Gatwick.
