Quebec A Good Option For Short Breaks
Quebec "a good option for short breaks" by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Travellers from the UK are recognising that the province of Quebec in Canada is a viable short break destination, an industry spokesperson has said.
Josephine Wiggall Lazarus, director of Quebec Tourism in the UK, revealed that the agency has been trying to make people aware that Quebec, unlike other parts of Canada, is a medium-haul destination.
Holidaymakers catching flights from London can reach the region in less than seven hours.
"People are beginning to realise this is a great short break destination with the island city of Montreal a great alternative to other North American cities like New York for shopping, culture and nightlife," Ms Wiggall Lazarus said.
"Better still the "great outdoors" is right on its doorstep."
The tourism agency has recently noted a move away from traditional holidays lasting two or three weeks and growth in breaks of ten nights or fewer.
Recent figures from the Canadian Tourism Commission showed that the country welcomed 2.5m visitors from international markets in the fourth quarter of 2009.
