Travellers Encouraged To Explore Southern Tuscany
Travellers encouraged to explore southern Tuscany by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Holidaymakers planning a visit to Tuscany have been encouraged to venture away from famous locations such as Pisa and Florence to explore lesser-known parts of the region.
Stefania Gatta, a spokesperson for the Italian State Tourist Board, pointed out that Tuscany has a lot to offer, encompassing diverse landscapes ranging from countryside to beaches to mountains.
People who are willing to travel to less well-known destinations could also benefit from prices that are lower than those in established tourist hotspots.
Ms Gatta said: "An area of Tuscany which is coming to the forefront is in the south … Maremma.
"It is a very beautiful and natural landscape and quite undiscovered in this country. It"s a bit less expensive than the rest of Tuscany and has a beautiful coastline as well."
Travellers planning a trip to Tuscany can catch flights to Pisa, which Ms Gatta described as the "main gateway" to the region.
Lonely Planet recently announced the results of its first ever awards survey and revealed that Italian was the top choice when respondents were asked what type of cuisine they would choose if they could only eat one type of food for the rest of their life.
