Turkey "attracting growing interest from travellers" by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Turkey has attracted strong interest from travellers this year, a spokesman for the country"s tourism industry has revealed.
Irfan Onal, director of the Turkish Culture and Tourism Office in the UK, said rising demand for travel to the country has prompted tour operators to boost their capacity.
"A host of airlines also increased flights to Turkey for the summer 2010 season [and] increased capacity to support growth in demand for flights to Turkey," he added.
At the heart of the country"s recent success is the city of Istanbul, which offers a range of experiences for visitors and boasts an official title this year in recognition of its culture.
Mr Onal explained: "Istanbul has become a great city break destination due to its combination of culture, food and nightlife and has the added bonus this year of being the 2010 European Capital of Culture."
The spokesman also recommended paying a visit to the Cappadocia region to see its spectacular lunar landscapes and try out some of the activities on offer, such as horse riding, trekking and hot-air ballooning.
