BA to launch new Tokyo route by Cheap Flights Booker UK
British Airways has announced plans to launch a new route from London Heathrow to Tokyo"s Haneda airport next year.
The airline said that the service is part of a push to "open up the domestic Japanese market to UK travellers".
Due to get underway on 19 February 2011, the route will feature five weekly flights operated by a Boeing 777, offering a choice of four classes.
Haneda airport is located near the Japanese capital"s business district, meaning the new service could prove popular among corporate travellers.
BA"s daily connections to Tokyo Narita will continue to operate from Heathrow alongside the new flights.
The airline confirmed other changes that are due to take effect from 27 March next year, with extra weekly services due to be launched from London Gatwick to Barbados and Antigua in the Caribbean.
Frequency on a new route to Cancun will be increased from two to three weekly flights from summer 2011, while Tampa in Florida will host seven services per week from Gatwick.
