Manchester airport promoting long-haul flights by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Manchester airport has launched a national advertising campaign this month to inform consumers of its long-haul services.

The initiative, entitled "So far, yet so near", is designed to highlight the fact that travellers can reach every major city in the world via non-stop or one-stop flights from Manchester.

It was launched to win back the estimated 1.5m passengers from the airport"s catchment area who fly to long-haul destinations from other bases.

An outdoor advertising campaign has been introduced to promote destinations in America, the Far East and India that are easily accessible from north-west England.

Andrew Harrison, Manchester airport"s new managing director, said: "Just last year I said that 50% of travellers from the north wanting to fly to Dubai were driving to London rather than taking flights from Manchester. With two daily services and one of them being an A380, there"s no need to do that anymore."

He added: "We want to continue to grow our long-haul offering at Manchester and we will achieve this by increasing the awareness and gaining the support of our passengers."

Popular destinations accessible from the base include New York City, Abu Dhabi, Singapore and Lahore.
