Monarch to offer new flights to Italy by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Monarch Airlines has announced that it will launch new flights from London Gatwick to Lemezia next summer.

The service will operate every Saturday between 30 April and 22 October.

Holidaymakers can use the route to reach the Calabria region in south-west Italy, which is home to woodland, lakes and other areas for outdoor exploration, as well as historic villages and towns.

The area also boasts some 780km of coastline on the Tyrrhenian and Ionian seas, which provides countless white-sand beaches where visitors can relax and soak up some sun.

Commenting on the new route, Monarch managing director Tim Jeans said: "We have seen increasing demand from a number of tour operators this year to offer flights to Calabria and we are delighted that we are now able to do so.

"The service will operate from Gatwick for summer 2011, but if demand continues to grow as expected, services will expand to operate from other bases in the future."
