Northern Territory looking for more visitors from Europe by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Australia"s Northern Territory (NT) is hoping to boost its appeal to visitors from Europe and the Middle East.
Malarndirri McCarthy, the state"s tourism minister, is travelling to the regions this week to discuss new marketing efforts and attempt to improve airline accessibility.
Ms McCarthy pointed out that tourism is a "key industry sector" for the NT government, contributing some $1.7bn (£1bn) to the economy every year.
"International visitors spent more than $400m in the Territory last year and they are a vital part of our local tourism industry," she added.
"The UK is the Territory"s primary international source market, closely followed by Germany, representing 60% of our international visitors."
During her trip, the minister will be meeting with representatives from Etihad Airways, Emirates and Malaysian Airlines, all of which are important providers of flights to Australia.
She will also be visiting the Kiss 100 radio station in London, which has just launched a new promotion with Tourism NT to reach Kiss 100"s youthful audience.
