Travellers visiting the province of Ontario in Canada over the coming months will be able to join in with a number of winter celebrations.
Ontario Tourism revealed that the region will boast a "robust" winter festivals calendar in 2010-11, with more than 3,000 events due to take place.
Among the highlights is the Niagara Falls Winter Festival of Lights, which will begin on 6 November and continue until 31 January 2011.
Visitors will be treated to the spectacular sight of more than 3m sparkling lights set up along a 5km route, as well as illuminations throughout the city, Christmas concerts and more.
Travellers can also catch flights to Toronto with carriers such as Air Canada and KLM to check out the WinterCity Festival and Winterlicious, a 14-day celebration of "culture, creativity and cuisine" that will run from 29 January to 11 February 2011.
Free outdoor and indoor entertainment will be available each weekend, along with special offers at some of the city"s top restaurants.
Winter festivals will also be taking place in Ottawa, Sault Ste Marie and other destinations in Ontario.
