30m passengers at London City airport by Cheap Flights Booker UK
London City airport is celebrating a major milestone with the recent arrival of its 30 millionth passenger.
Dr Paul Thind departed on Swiss flight LX457 to Zurich at 12:45 BST on Sunday (17 October).
The airport and Swiss International Airlines hosted a special celebration at the gate lounge for all passengers on the service and presented Dr Thind with a bottle of champagne and a pair of business class tickets to Switzerland from London City.
Richard Gooding OBE, chief executive of the London base, said: "Reaching the 30m mark is a significant milestone for the airport.
"We are pleased to commemorate this with Swiss, who have been an important contributor to the growth of the airport since 1992, with over 3.5m passengers travelling to Switzerland."
Gregor Koncilja, Swiss UK and Ireland country manager, said the airline was "delighted" to carry London City"s 30 millionth passenger and looks forward to welcoming millions more in the future from this "well situated and successful airport".
