AA, BA and Iberia announce trans-Atlantic partnership by Cheap Flights Booker UK

American Airways, British Airways and Iberia have announced a joint partnership for trans-Atlantic flights that will see passengers promised a range of benefits.

The airlines are hoping to offer fliers cheaper fares, more choice of flight times and easier connecting journeys by pooling their resources.

Chief executives from all three companies met in London today to mark the beginning of new relationships.

They marked the occasion by announcing four new routes that will start from next April, as a result of the partnership.

Willie Walsh, chief executive of British Airways, said: "Today"s route announcement is a great example of how by working together we can benefit customers.

"Combined selling and scheduling means that we will able to operate routes that would not have been viable for us to operate individually."

The new routes include flights to Budapest from New York JFK and to Chicago from Helsinki, which will be operated by AA.

BA will operate a service from London Heathrow to San Diego, while Iberia will operate a route between Madrid and Los Angeles.
