Air Berlin to launch first non-stop Guernsey to Germany flights by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Air Berlin will next year introduce the first non-stop scheduled flights from Guernsey to Germany.

The carrier will begin weekly services from the island to the cities of Dusseldorf and Hanover during the summer 2011 season.

Due to operate on Saturdays, the connections will be available from 16 April until the end of September.

Guernsey will be Air Berlin"s second destination in the Channel Islands, following the successful launch of a route from Jersey to Dusseldorf.

Passengers will also have the option of flying from Hanover to Jersey via Guernsey for the first time.

Titus Johnson, the carrier"s UK and Ireland country manager, said: "Air Berlin will be the only airline to service Germany with scheduled flights to and from Guernsey.

"It"s an exciting opportunity and one which will no doubt boost German tourism to the thriving Channel Island."

Air Berlin is Germany"s second largest airline after Lufthansa, which operates long-haul flights to destinations across the globe.
