Airport Security Checks Could Be Eased
Airport security checks could be eased by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Stringent airport security checks could be relaxed after the transport minister admitted the passenger experience needed to be improved.
Transport secretary Philip Hammond said that he plans to change regulations for airport security after leading industry figures called for an overhaul of existing rules.
The discussion was sparked by comments from British Airways chairman Martin Broughton who said that a lot of the current measures are "completely redundant".
The removing of shoes and socks before flights was deemed unnecessary by Mr Broughton, who also said that the UK should not follow the United States" lead on airport security.
Inconsistency between airports seems to be causing confusion according to Mr Broughton.
"Take the iPad, they still haven"t decided if it is a laptop or it isn"t a laptop. So some airports think you should take it out (of its case for screening separately) and some think you shouldn"t," he said.
