Bmi Marks 5 Years Of Saudi Arabia Flights
Bmi marks 5 years of Saudi Arabia flights by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Bmi is celebrating the fifth anniversary of its launch of flights to Saudi Arabia.
The carrier became the first British airline to provide a direct link to the country from the UK in September 2005, when it began operating three weekly services from London Heathrow to Riyadh.
A route from Heathrow to Jeddah was launched in May 2006, followed by flights from the London hub to Dammam in March 2008.
Over the past five years, more than 400,000 travellers have used bmi"s connections between the UK and Saudi Arabia.
Joerg Hennemann, the airline"s chief commercial officer, highlighted the importance of the routes in supporting the close trading relationships between the two countries.
He added: "We look forward to many more successful years of flights to Saudi Arabia and serving the travelling needs of Britons and Saudis."
It was announced last month that bmi would be launching a new route from London Heathrow to Tripoli in Libya on 1 December this year.
