Families "would consider sharing holidays" by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Nearly two-thirds (62%) of families would consider sharing their holiday with another family in order to save money and spend time with those closest to them, according to a survey by Post Office Travel Insurance.
A third (33%) of parents polled said they would be willing to let family friends take their children away without them and 36% would be happy to take their own youngsters" friends on holiday with them.
Spending time with loved ones (60%) and keeping children entertained (60%) were among the main reasons given for sharing a break, along with cutting costs (33%).
However, the research also highlighted concerns such as disagreeing over holiday activities (43%) and disciplining other people"s children (30%).
Rachel Croft, head of Post Office Travel Insurance, said: "With budgets being stretched and many of us time poor, taking a group holiday can be a good way to save money and spend time with loved ones."
The study also sought the advice of Jean Broke-Smith, etiquette expert from Channel 4"s The Family and Ladette to Lady, who said: "Adding another family into the mix means you have more people"s preferences to consider. It"s therefore important to set ground rules before you go on issues such as activities, dining options and bed times for children."
