Holidays in Oman "increasingly popular with Europeans" by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Holidays in Oman are becoming an increasingly popular option for European travellers, according to one expert.

Mohammed bin Hamoud al Tobi, tourism under-secretary for the Middle Eastern country"s Tourism Ministry, says visitor numbers are on the up, particularly among those arriving from the other Gulf States for a short or weekend break.

He tells Zawya.com: "Demand for global travel has increased over the first half of the year and we see these positive trends increasing to the last quarter of 2010.

Visitor arrivals numbers are up and most of our key source markets are performing well."

Statistics compiled by the International Air Transport Association reveal visitor numbers from Saudi Arabia have increased by 30% during the year ending June 2010, while they have jumped by 22% and 10% from Qatar and the United Arab

Emirates respectively.

Elsewhere, record arrivals from Germany and France have been noted, with a 113% rise in visitor numbers from Germany alone seen after national carrier Oman Air started offering services from the European nations.
