"Ideal conditions" at Canadian ski resort by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Nakiska ski resort in the Canadian Rockies has revealed that conditions are ideal for winter sports enthusiasts visiting the destination for early-season breaks.

With close to 40cm of snowfall over the last few days, the resort is planning to have more terrain and lifts open for its second weekend of early operations in the 2010-11 ski season.

The combination of natural and man-made snow means that Nakiska will potentially have eight runs open this weekend, meaning skiers and snowboarders will get to enjoy a vertical drop of over 2,555 feet - the most in the Canadian Rockies.

Visitors can pick up an iSki card to use the resort"s ski lifts for a day and benefit from money off current ticket prices.

Travellers can reach Nakiska by catching flights to the nearby city of Calgary.

The resort is operated by a company that also owns the Fernie Alpine and Kimberley Alpine sites in British Columbia, among others.
