Monarch"s passenger numbers "continue to soar" by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Monarch Airlines has revealed that its passenger numbers "continued to soar" in October as travellers booked flights to popular hotspots in Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar, Cyprus and Turkey.

During October, the airline carried almost 428,000 scheduled passengers, breaking its previous record for the month.

The company"s load factor - the rate at which it fills its planes - also reached a record level of 89.05%.

Alicante and Malaga, two of the most popular gateways to Spain"s leading coastal resorts, were Monarch"s most popular destinations last month, with load factors of 93.58% and 93.36% respectively.

The carrier"s flights to Lanzarote were also operating at 93.22% capacity in October.

Monarch recently reported "huge demand" for its services to Spain and the Spanish islands for the October half-term period, which led to the introduction of additional services from Luton and Manchester airports.

Other popular destinations in the airline"s network include Faro, Antalya and Larnaca.
