Online Travel Market Set For Strong Growth In 2010
Online travel market "set for strong growth in 2010" by Cheap Flights Booker UK
The European online travel market is set for strong growth this year, according to a report from market research company PhoCusWright.
Following a decline of 11% last year, the wider European travel industry is expected to grow by 2% in 2010.
The online sector of the market will experience a stronger expansion of about 10%, PhoCusWright predicts.
Carroll Rheem, the company"s director of research, said that the recession provided a boost for internet-based travel providers, as many people turned to the web in search of bargains.
"For travellers who may have been hesitant to book online, the recession provided the extra push they needed," she said.
"Deal seekers turned to the internet, and online travel agencies in particular, to find affordable options."
Ms Rheem went on to state that hotel bookings have been particularly important in recent times, fuelling the growth experienced by many online travel agencies and holiday companies throughout Europe.
