Paris to get new hotel for Christmas by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Travellers planning a trip to Paris this Christmas will have a new accommodation option in the form of the Shangri-La Hotel.
Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts announced that the property, its first in Europe, would open in the French capital"s 16th arrondissement on 17 December.
Based in a building that was constructed in 1896 as the private home of Napoleon Bonaparte"s grand-nephew, the hotel will blend "Asian hospitality with French art de vivre", the company claimed.
Guests will be accommodated in 81 rooms including 27 suites, many of which provide unobstructed views of the Eiffel Tower and the Seine.
Amenities include La Bauhinia, an all-day dining restaurant and lounge in the centre of the building, and Shang Palace, reportedly Paris" first authentic gourmet Cantonese eatery, which is due to open in early 2011.
Alain Borgers, general manager of the new hotel, said: "Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts is honoured to have been entrusted [with] the preservation of this significant part of French heritage.
"Whether for accommodation, dining, entertaining or celebrating special events, we are eager to welcome Parisians and visitors to reveal this Parisian treasure and offer our signature style of hospitality."
