Qantas celebrating 90th anniversary by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Qantas is hosting some special events this month to mark 90 years as "Australia"s leading airline".

The carrier welcomed Hollywood star and qualified pilot John Travolta to Sydney for the first of three special celebrations on 6 November.

Travolta flew to Australia on a Boeing 707 in period livery formerly owned by Qantas.

Brisbane hosted a second event on 7 November and Melbourne will be at the heart of the activities on 13 November, ahead of the 90th anniversary date of 16 November.

Alan Joyce, chief executive of Qantas, said the anniversary provided an opportunity to reflect on the airline"s history and the importance of its employees.

"Since its foundation in Queensland in 1920, Qantas has always been dedicated to the highest standards of safety, innovation and customer service," he commented.

"Qantas" greatest strength is, and has always been, its people - so we are delighted to be opening up our engineering facilities in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne for three special events."

The airline provides flights to Sydney and Melbourne from London Heathrow and also operates a domestic network that includes links to the Gold Coast, Alice Springs, Ayers Rock and other destinations.
