Rough Guides launches World Lens app by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Rough Guides has launched the World Lens app, which is its first application for the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.

The free tool showcases 200 images from the travel guide publisher"s picture library.

People planning a trip abroad can search the selection for shots of locations they will be visiting during their break and share their discoveries with friends or family via email, Twitter or Facebook.

Users can also pinpoint certain destinations on a world map to ensure they can find them easily and read captions and short essays contributed by Rough Guides" writers.

The app currently features sights and landmarks such as the Amber Fort in Rajasthan, India; the riverside food stalls of Vientiane, Laos and the Blue Mosque in Istanbul.
