Swiss recognised for short- and medium-haul flights by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Swiss International Air Lines was among the carriers recognised at the latest annual Travel Star Awards.

The company received a Gold Travel Star accolade as the best network airline for short- and medium-haul flights.

Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines were also recognised with "podium places" at the event.

The awards are organised by Travel Inside magazine and based on a survey of 713 travel agencies based in Switzerland.

Swiss chief commercial officer Holger Hatty said: "The fact that we have been named number one for the first time by Switzerland"s travel agencies, our most important distribution partners, is a tremendous achievement, especially in such a fiercely competitive market as Europe.

"This award is a clear confirmation that our efforts and investments on the product and service front are the right way to go, and are acknowledged and appreciated by our customers."

The airline operates an extensive international network that encompasses a range of services from the UK, including flights to Zurich from London Heathrow, Birmingham and Manchester airports and routes to Basel and Geneva from London City.
