Travellers "want to discover new destinations" by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Dan Linstead, editor of the publication, said that people are often motivated to visit new destinations to take advantage of their affordability but also want to find out more about countries they have never seen before.

"For a whole variety of reasons, partly economic and partly just curiosity, we do like to go [and] explore places that are a little less familiar," he said.

"Basically people have been interested in getting beyond the usual destinations - Spain, Greece and so forth - and going outside the eurozone, which is quite expensive for people at the moment."

He went on to say that emerging tourist locations provide "an insight into cultures, practices and aspects of life that you wouldn"t get in a traditional holiday destination."

The International Air Transport Association recently released figures covering international aviation for September, which showed that African airlines experienced a 16% increase in demand during the month compared to the previous year.
