Air Berlin arrives at London Gatwick by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Air Berlin this week arrived at London Gatwick, with flights from Hanover and Nuremberg in Germany arriving at 07:00 and 07:15 GMT respectively yesterday (7 February).

The services received the traditional water arch welcome on Gatwick"s airfield.

Routes to Hanover and Nuremberg are expected to prove popular among business and leisure travellers alike.

Welcoming the arrival of Air Berlin, Gatwick said that the carrier represents a "new breed" of airlines that are challenging budget operators by providing full-service flights at low prices.

Stewart Wingate, the base"s chief executive officer, said the development shows that the base is making progress with its ambition to become "London"s airport of choice".

He added: "This is the first step in a long-term relationship with Air Berlin, which we hope will generate further destinations not currently served by Gatwick and open up more choice for our passengers."

Norwegian Air Shuttle also transferred its entire operation from Stansted to Gatwick in 2009, partly because of the latter"s public transport links to London.
