BA Offering More Time In Mauritius
BA offering more time in Mauritius by Cheap Flights Booker UK
British Airways has announced a change to its timetable that will allow its passengers to spend more time in Mauritius.
From 1 November 2011, the airline"s return flights from the island will depart 12 hours later, meaning travellers will have more time to enjoy the destination before heading home.
The changes mean that both outbound and inbound flights will depart in the evening.
BA also announced that it would be moving its route to Mauritius from Heathrow to Gatwick airport.
Silla Maizey, the airline"s director of Gatwick operations, said the company has a "strong premium leisure strategy" at the airport and wants it to become a hub for high-end holiday destinations.
"Moving the Mauritius flight here helps us to strengthen this position as it will now sit alongside destinations such as the Maldives and the Caribbean," she added.
"Gatwick"s owners, GIP, are ploughing significant investment into the airport so customers can expect a new level of service there soon. The future for British Airways customers using Gatwick is very bright."
BA will be making other changes at the airport from 30 October this year, including the introduction of extra flights on its routes to Cancun in Mexico and Tampa in the US.
