EasyJet launches first UK service to Brussels by Cheap Flights Booker UK
EasyJet this week launched its first service from the UK to Brussels, Belgium"s capital city.
The airline is offering six weekly flights to the destination from Liverpool, which will operate from Sunday to Friday.
Paul Simmons, easyJet"s UK general manager, said the airline is providing "affordable access to the capital of Europe".
Mr Simmons was joined at Liverpool John Lennon airport by Brian Simpson, the European parliament"s transport committee chairman and representative for north-west England.
"I"m delighted that easyJet is starting flights between Liverpool and Brussels, and honoured that it chose Liverpool to launch its first British-based service to the EU capital," said Mr Simpson.
"This brings Merseyside and the wider north-west region closer to Europe and will allow more choice for regular travellers such as myself."
He went on to say that the route will "generate an influx of business and leisure travellers to the Belgian capital".
EasyJet will also be expanding its route network this year with the launch of flights from London Gatwick to Amman in Jordan.
