Sports Fans Offered Advice For Cricket World Cup
Sports fans offered advice for Cricket World Cup by Cheap Flights Booker UK
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) has teamed up with the England and Wales Cricket Board to offer travel advice for people heading to the Cricket World Cup this year.
Sports fans will be heading to destinations in host countries India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka for the tournament, which will run from 19 February to 2 April.
Travellers are advised to visit their GP to check if they need vaccinations or malaria tablets and make copies of their passport and visa pages to leave with friends or family before they depart.
Visas are required for India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, with double- or triple-entry authorisation needed for people planning to stay in one country and visit the others to see matches.
The FCO also recommends that visitors should always carry a form of photo identification and take care when deciding what and where to eat and drink.
Consular affairs minister Jeremy Browne said: "Following an exciting winter of cricket in Australia, we want British supporters to enjoy a trouble-free time at the Cricket World Cup in south Asia.
"I recommend fans visit our travel advice at www.fco.gov.uk/cricket to help them prepare - from getting the right visa to taking out comprehensive travel insurance, seeking medical advice on malaria and vaccinations, and keeping safe and secure during their trip."
